Week 2: The Genesis

Wow, this week has been very encouraging for me.

My lenses are all soaring up in rank, and currently most of them (except for my new ones) are all in the top 10,000. I'm overflowing with ideas for new lenses, and simply don't have enough time to write down everything! I have about thirty lenses in WIP, all that I need to get around to publishing sometime. There's so many ideas going through my head now!

I guess I've been bitten by the squidoo bug.

This week I've managed to crank out two new lenses. They both are very foreign to me, but people seem to be engaged and enjoying them. The first one is a compilation of ways to get traffic and the other is a game revolving around haikus.

I was very impressed with my traffic tips lens; on it's first day it shot up to 13,000 in lensrank! I guess an angel must have dinged it or something, because I didn't know that could happen.

I'm still trying to generate interest around my haiku lens. It's a great idea, but it's going to sink unless people actively participate. So far one person has submitted a very poetic haiku, and it's too bad I can't generate more traffic to get some votes for that person!

I'm still not doing too hot in terms of traffic (yet, ironically I've made a traffic lens). My most views this week ranged around 15-ish, however as the days go by, the views are going. I need to do some promotion sometime, but I'm just so busy I don't really want to. I've logged back onto my old gaia account, and added my link into my signature. Maybe I'll start having some more success. I'm considering becoming active on PinkPT again too...

Summary of my lenses this week:

Highest ranked lens:

Improve your writing: Snapshots is still my best ranked lens. It's slowly crawling up towards Tier II, and is currently at 3,129. It hasn't broken into the top 100 for arts and literature yet, although my lens on genetic engineering is currently #81 in news.

Lowest ranked lenses:

The haiku game is currently my lowest ranked lens. I just posted it yesterday, so I'm happy with where it's at. I'm hoping this one will become very successful though; it seems like great fun. If only I could get more people to join!

All the other lenses from last week are in the same order, with two newcomers.

New lenses:

15 painless tips to get traffic: This lens seems like it's going to do semi-well. I have the whole target audience right on the site; so I guess we'll see how it goes.

The haiku game: My personal favorite lens of mine, although it took the least time to make. I really hope this one takes off!

New lenses to look forward to:

I've got quite a few ideas going through my head. Expect a few more lenses on improving your writing, and one on the Bermuda Triangle. Maybe even one on video games.
